Just You and Me. Three to Ten Days. Built Around What's Actually Going On.
This is the main work I do.
Not a program with a fixed curriculum. Not a group you sit in. You come to the White Mountains, we build the days around your prework, and we do the work that actually needs doing — not the version of it that fits a schedule.
How It Works
1. Discovery call. A real conversation, no pitch. We figure out if this is the right fit before anything else happens.
2. Prework. You tell me what you're carrying, what's blocking you, what scares you most about looking at it. This shapes everything that comes next.
3. Program design call. Thirty to forty-five minutes before you arrive. We build your specific itinerary together.
4. The intensive. Three to ten days at the property — daily one-on-one sessions, nature, sauna, real food, and space to actually think. Firewalk and glass walk available if it's right for you.
5. After you leave. Weekly calls, ongoing support. You don't go home with a folder of handouts and radio silence.
What's Included
Private accommodation. Daily sessions, three to four hours. All core programming — nature work, meditation, writing, sauna. Meals built around what you actually eat. A personalized plan you leave with. Structured follow-up.
Pricing
$1,500/night, three-night minimum. Payment plans available.
What Guys Say
"Honed back into my recovery and got to the core fundamentals." — Tommy, Firefighter, Boston
"Preventative maintenance and consistent effort have been key to strengthening the foundation of the work I've put in over the past decade." — Mike, Boston
"The retreat gave me all I needed plus more to get restarted and reconnected with not only my recovery but myself." — Rick
A weekend with Away Recovery was truly transformative for me. I entered seeking a deeper connection with myself and the tools I had already learned for lasting recovery. What I found was invaluable—an opportunity to cultivate self-compassion and the ability to safely allow my feelings to surface. This environment emphasized the importance of boundaries and integrity, which has been crucial in my journey.
Chris was instrumental in this experience. He opened the door to more authentic thought patterns, helping me realize how to integrate these insights into my daily life. Before this weekend, my approach felt mechanical and systematic, often hindered by my own intelligence getting in the way. Now, I feel equipped with a more heartfelt and authentic perspective, allowing me to share my feelings with others more openly.
This weekend has truly reshaped my understanding of recovery, transforming it from a process to a genuine practice of connection—with myself and with others.

“I recently had the opportunity to spend 3 nights at Away Recovery and it proved to be exactly the reset that I needed. Away provided a place to step back from the grind, slow down and reflect through nature, meditation, writing, and honest conversations. Chris was instrumental in showing me how to create time and space to show up for myself as well as others. He helped me to reshape my thought patterns, put down the unnecessary weight holding me back, and to be a more authentic version of myself. I don’t have all the answers but I’m confident I know where I’m going. It was a transformative experience for me and I highly recommend it! - Mike C; tradesman; Marshfield, MA
